About the job: BasBlue is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to supporting women across the personal and professional by fostering authentic connections, elevated programming, and growth opportunities for the women of Detroit. Located in Midtown Detroit, BasBlue is the first-ever space of its kind in Michigan, providing a home for a diverse and inclusive community via annual membership, educational seminars, mentorship programs, wellness offerings, and a bustling café – all made by women, for women.
We are seeking a full time Cafe Supervisor to bring the BasBlue community to life and provide exceptional customer service to members and guests. The ideal candidate will be an extremely detail-oriented and a personable multitasker who is comfortable working in a fast-paced setting. They will bring resourcefulness, organization, and stellar communication skills to the space, and will be counted on to serve as the face of the BasBlue Community.
Key Responsibilities –
CAFE
- Act as an ambassador - greeting, getting to know and understand members, and offering friendly service to all guests and colleagues
- Engage with guests and execute orders
- Process payments
- Comply with all food and beverage safety standards
- Lead assigned private event set up and take down
- Lead assigned onsite programming and private events
- Train all new FOH employees.
- Provides assistance when necessary to ensure clean and orderly space, free of café dishes and garbage.
- Encourage and facilitate group or individual tours as scheduled or requested.
- Route membership inquiries, requests and feedback to Membership Manager as appropriate.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Manage inventory and place orders for standard office equipment and supplies, such as printer, ink or toner, paper, etc., and report any malfunctions to the appropriate person.
- Receive food and beverage orders from the kitchen team and place orders for weekly deliveries, such as produce, coffee, paper goods, etc. Provide invoices to management for payment/tracking.
- Manage print collateral inventory and place orders as needed.
- Manage all Cafe employees including scheduling, attendance and job performance / duties.
- Encourage and facilitate group or individual tours as scheduled or requested.
- Route membership inquiries, requests and feedback to Membership Manager as appropriate.Develop and maintain an active partnership pipeline of qualified potential sponsors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Execute all catering orders from beginning to end
- Catering order can be after hours or weekends must be flexable with your schedule
MEMBERSHIP + COMMUNITY
- Support Management in the administrative needs of BasBlue’s membership strategy
- Update existing and prospective member data in Salesforce, ensuring it is accurately entered and maintained
- Assist with BasBlue Membership Committee including outreach, providing tools, tips and opportunities to engage new members

WORKING CONDITIONS
Business hours for BasBlue will be 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Additional after hours if needed due to catering. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to operate the following equipment: Macbook computer or iPad, telephone, and printer/copier.
