DevOps Engineer (Security)

In this role, you will work on-site/remote with our customer(s) supporting the migration and implementation of a Security Orchestration, Automation and Response platform as well as enhance the ETL (extract, transform, and load), log ingestion, and cloud platform for the security organization. This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you will lead the customer in migrating their current capabilities and developing new capabilities within the customer’s environment. The SME having specific expertise and implementation knowledge cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes and Azure to support the Cortex XSOAR rollout. This enables security teams to orchestrate security and ingest and respond to alerts across sources and execute standardized, automated playbooks for accelerated incident response.

Responsibilities

The DevOps Engineers' daily tasks vary by career and experience.

  • Management: Be a senior resource, mentor and SME for various DevOps projects, long term maintenance and sustainability for the customer
  • Design & Development: They are responsible for designing and developing an organization's infrastructure, using automation to reduce risk, and maintaining it
  • Teamwork and Support: DevOps engineers must be proficient in technical assessments, deployment, and monitoring to improve system dependability and scalability

The DevOps Engineer job description includes the following skills:

  • Proficiency in Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, containers, networking, and databases
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep for automating infrastructure deployment
  • Expertise in version control systems (e.g. GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  • Strong PowerShell, Bash, Go or Python scripting skills for automating tasks and processes
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Data Lake (ADL), Azure Data Explorer (ADX), or sufficient experience integrating with and maintaining big data platforms (e.g. Snowflake)
  • Understanding security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), Azure Policy, and managing secrets with tools like Azure Key Vault, on Azure equivalent experience accepted
  • Implementing observability solutions and develop alerting and monitoring for K8s and related DevOps tools and data pipelines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams, with strong communication skills to drive DevOps culture
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes (e.g. AKS, EKS, GKE)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to DevOps processes
  • Knowledge: They must stay current with industry trends and best practices, identifying automation, design development, and other solutions to improve operational efficiency
  • Develop documentation related to automation processes and procedures (Document, document, document)
  • Versatile Duties: DevOps engineers must be adaptable to handle various tasks and participate in on-call and office hours

Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $100000 to $125000. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
