The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance team and implementing a quality management system that ensures product reliability, functionality, and regulatory compliance. This role involves developing, managing, and refining quality systems, standards, and processes to maintain high-quality products and services. The QA Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align quality goals with organizational objectives and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and enforce quality standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular quality audits and assessments to verify that processes meet established quality standards.
  • Set performance goals for team members and conduct regular evaluations to promote professional growth and alignment with quality goals.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze quality data to assess the company’s performance against quality metrics.
  • Ensure that quality standards comply with current regulatory requirements and industry certifications.
  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies in workflows and production processes, focusing on defect reduction and improved quality outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for quality processes, ensuring they are accessible, clear, and up-to-date with the latest standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency, focusing on reducing waste, minimizing errors, and enhancing overall product quality.
  • Act as a quality liaison across departments, ensuring quality practices are integrated at every stage of product lifecycle and fostering a quality-centric culture.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of all relevant federal, state, and local laws, as well as industry-specific standards affecting quality and compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities as needed to maintain certifications and approvals.
  • Use statistical analysis and quality metrics to track improvements over time and validate the effectiveness of quality initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who will proactively improve the quality systems of the company through internal audits, participation in process improvement programs, and interaction with key partners to obtain constructive feedback. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop standardized production, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Identify potential risks before they become a problem, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive action
  • Perform internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings
  • Build a strong team through coaching, mentoring, specific training and performance evaluations


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering
  • 5+ years' relevant work experience
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
