Profitable, successful manufacturer is adding a 1st shift Production Supervisor to oversee production for a specific product line. As the Production Supervisor, you will report to a manager with over twenty years of experience with the company. You will be responsible for the following daily tasks:

  • Training, coaching, mentoring and evaluating the hourly workforce
  • Operating as the point of contact for all production workers in the assigned area to answer questions related to benefits, discipline, attendance, etc.
  • Working with other departments in the plant to meet production goals and support hourly team members
  • Scheduling staff to designated areas of the production floor and planning overtime based on production needs
  • Ensuring that safety, quality and delivery goals are met
  • Leading shift change communication and attending other meetings as needed
  • Following the production schedule and making modifications as needed
  • Reviewing, confirming and approving timesheets and vacation requests, including researching any discrepancies in hours and timesheets
  • Conducting disciplinary actions as needed and completing staff reviews
  • Assisting with interviewing and hiring staff within the assigned department
  • Assisting with identifying process improvements
  • Other duties as directed by management


This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 70% of their day. The primary goal of this position will be to improve communication with the department's machine operators. Candidates should enjoy mentoring and coaching others, holding people accountable, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enjoy building rapport on the floor and working within a team of manufacturing professionals. 1st shift hours:

Monday-Friday, 6:15 a.m.-4 p.m. to cover all three shifts

Saturday hours of production are 5 a.m.-12 p.m. (ONLY work one Saturday per quarter)


REQUIREMENTS for the Production Supervisor:

1. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

2. At least two years of experience overseeing others in a manufacturing environment

3. Experience overseeing at least 15-20 people at a time

4. Microsoft Office experience, including BASIC Word and Excel skills


Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. Mechanical and/or technical aptitude

2. ERP experience

3. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
