The Principal, working in partnership with the Superintendent and Education Leadership Team, builds and maintains a culture of high academic expectations, where every student can succeed to their maximum ability, maintains a safe and healthy environment, and facilitates the participation of parents/guardians to maximize each student’s learning potential. This is a year-round position.


Experience:

  • Prefer Principal experience or minimum of Assistant Principal or similar school leadership experience (minimum of 3 years)
  • 5 years’ experience teaching in a classroom including children with disabilities in the regular classroom.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a school community toward improved academic achievement.
  • Demonstrated experience in working successfully with diverse populations of students, parents, and families—including students, parents and families with limited English proficiency and students with disabilities.
  • Experience hiring and managing teachers and other instructional staff and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and members of the community.
  • Experience and knowledge of effective practices in implementing a project-based learning model of instruction – differentiating instruction for a wide range of learners.
  • Capacity to mentor teachers in reflective practice.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning through professional development.
  • Knowledge of School District/Exceptional Education Compliance/Department of Children and Families policies and procedures
