Job Summary

• Technical Supervisor Pathology Assistant assists residents and pathologist in processing, dissection and description of gross anatomic findings of submitted specimens in accordance with established procedures. Responsible for the performance of all routine and special procedures within the gross suite; including frozen sections. Trains and supervises as required by Manager and Anatomic Pathology Director. Performs computer data entry and verification of procedures; reports to Manager and performs other duties as assigned. Independently gross complex specimens for example (Hysterometries, Head and Neck resections, etc.). Assists with Autopsies as needed. Also assists with Residents as needed.


Education

• Bachelors Degree: Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with 26 science credits with appropriate experience in a CLIA laboratory, or Military Training Program (An official U.S. Military medical laboratory procedures training course and that the applicant has held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist - Laboratory Technician.) (Required)

• Masters Degree: Pathology (Preferred)


Experience

• 1 Year experience as a certified pathology assistant (Required)

• 1 Year experience in a supervisory role (Required)


Location: Temple Health. Temple University Hospital

Shift/Hours: Day Shift/40 hrs – 9:00am – 5:30pm
