The Buyer manages procurement of raw materials, components, and services, overseeing vendor relationships, cost negotiations, and inventory control to support production schedules. This role requires close collaboration with production, planning, and inventory teams to align purchasing with manufacturing needs.

R.M. Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Its products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with ~600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.

Buyer Responsibilities:

• Execute purchase orders, manage requisitions, and oversee the procurement process for goods and services.
• Monitor inventory levels and participate in stock planning to optimize availability and minimize shortages.
• Track and manage purchase orders, handle delays, and ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Support cost reduction efforts through supplier negotiations and inventory control strategies.
• Maintain and evaluate supplier relationships, including performance metrics, quality issues, and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to trade compliance regulations and maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
• Assist in new product development by providing sourcing insights and assessing vendor capabilities.

Buyer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within manufacturing.
• Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory management systems.
• Strong negotiation skills with proven experience in vendor management.
