About the Role:



Under general supervision, monitors and controls water system facilities and equipment manually and/or using information technology to regulate raw water supply and treated water distribution, control hydroelectric power generation and monitor and control water quality; and performs related work as required.




Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with customer service teams to address customer inquiries and concerns related to water distribution.
  • Monitor water quality parameters and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Take appropriate measures to address any deviations from water quality standards.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain water distribution systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of pipelines, pumps, valves, and other related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the distribution system.
  • Read water meters.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations such as leaks, breaks, and system failures.
  • Coordinate with team members and other relevant authorities to address and resolve emergencies.
  • Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local regulations governing water distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and assist in regulatory inspections.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional technical training or certification in water distribution is a plus.
  • Knowledge of water distribution systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid California driver's license.
