Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination.

  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment for patient use.
  • Ensure proper infection control measures are followed at all times.

Administrative Duties

  • Greet patients and ensure a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Schedule patient appointments and assist with medical records management.
  • Handle phone calls, inquiries, and requests from patients and other medical professionals.
  • Process billing and insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up with patients as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.

Patient Education and Support

  • Provide patients with instructions and information about medications, treatments, and procedures.
  • Offer support and guidance to patients and their families, addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Educate patients on preventive healthcare practices and wellness strategies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential (preferred).
  • Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic clinical skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Working Conditions

  • This position requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and medical conditions is possible.
  • Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the medical practice.
  • Must be able to carry/lift 3 to 5 lbs of weight.
