Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add a Chief Engineer to their Data Center management team in Georgetown, TX. This leader will interface with a key client in managing all things Electrical and Mechanical in a data center operating 24/7/365. This leader Is responsible for a staff of 14 and will work closely with this staff and the client to assure upkeep, maintenance and advancement of the data center. This role is based, onsite, in Georgetown, TX, requires no travel, pays a salary in the $115K range with 5% bonus, a strong benefit package including 4 weeks PTO. Relocation packages are available for qualified candidates.


The key to this role is a proven leader with a confident style, strong organizational skills, patience and technical abilities in the M&E space. This role oversees the operations and development of a team of onsite Critical Environment engineers/technicians, ensuring provision of both preventative Maintenance and Repair Services to the Client data center. The incumbent will:


  • Provide leadership and management of the on-site tech team at the Data Center.
  • Manage and plan day to day activities, auditing and monitoring effectiveness against SLAs and KPIs, and improving service delivery to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Deliver best in class client satisfaction, possessing deep listening skills to understand expectations, and attend regular meetings with client representatives to keep them informed.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance program and scheduling of the team to perform maintenance, work orders, racks set/level/contain/move/decom, rounds and readings, and ensure completion within the agreed SLA timeframe and to the desired high standard.
  • Perform quality audits of work performed.
  • Establish a safety-minded workplace, ensuring strict adherence to client standards.
  • Prepare and/or comprehensively review the pursuit of safe working practices at all times.
  • Manage performance, ensuring regular and meaningful reviews with direct reports and other team members.
  • Explore opportunities for the strategic development of the account while delivering increased revenue and profit.
  • Deliver compilation and preparation of monthly reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years experience in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • 5+ years experience working in a data center environment
  • 5+ years experience managing an engineering team of 10+ in a Critical Environment
  • 5+ years experience performing/managing installation of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure and Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Proven knowledge of Critical Facility and Data Center equipment and components including UPS, PDU, STS, EG, CRAC, CRAH
  • Strong understanding of 24/7/365 Data Center environments, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments.
  • Experience working with/managing a client with understanding of an MSA/SLA environment.
  • Experience working with financial data related to all of the above qualifications and using Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet.
  • Ability to pass criminal/credit FBI background check
  • CDCMP or FM certification preferred.
