Location: Burlingame, CA (Hybrid in office Monday - Wednesday, WFH Thursday and Friday)

About The Role

We are seeking a talented and qualified Product Manager to oversee our product business and spearhead initiatives that enhance our market presence and product offerings.


Who You Are

You are a strategic thinker with experience in product management and the ability to lead. Your background includes extensive interaction with internal teams and external clients such as architects, designers, specifiers, and contractors. You excel at balancing multiple projects, navigating complex challenges, and developing innovative solutions with a hands-on approach.

 

What You Will Be Doing

·       Lead Product Business Units: Lead a multidisciplinary team, serving as the product expert and primary point of contact for both internal teams and external clients including architects, designers, specifiers, and contractors.

·       Strategic Sales Collaboration: Partner with the Sales Team to identify new opportunities and strategically position B+N to win new business.

·       Market Research and Analysis: Collaborate with the Marketing Team to conduct thorough market research, including SWOT analyses, to understand competitive positioning and drive sales growth.

·       Product Development Collaboration: Partner with the Product Development Team to use insights from market research to enhance product lines and create customized solutions that meet specific client needs.

·       Vendor Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between B+N and product vendors, overseeing all aspects of quoting, costing, and vendor management.

·       Inventory and Production Oversight: Work with the VP of Operations and the Controller to set and maintain inventory levels, including reorder points and safety stocks, and to oversee the production planning process.

·       Industry Engagement: Represent B+N at tradeshows, events, or client meetings, as needed.

·       Cross-Functional Teamwork: Facilitate collaboration across design, sales, procurement, and vendor teams to meet and exceed the revenue goals for the product line.

·       Product Expertise: Gain a comprehensive understanding of each product in your portfolio, including how they function and are utilized across different market verticals.

·       Architectural Analysis: Develop the skill to analyze architectural drawings and collaborate with your team to produce accurate take-offs for costing and pricing.

·       Data Management: Must possess intermediate Excel skills and experience with ERP systems, especially in managing Bills of Materials and inventory; NetSuite experience is highly preferred.


Skills and Experience You Bring

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of related experience.
  • Project Management or Team Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and floor plans. 
  • Excellent at communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Attentive listener and meticulous with details, with an inclination towards learning and continuous improvement.
  • Effective time management and prioritization.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
