Job Summary:

With broad oversight from the President, the Head of Health will be responsible for developing and managing the Health portfolio strategy, offerings, implementations, budgets, and client satisfaction. This includes assessing marketplace needs for Health services, conducting research with internal and external stakeholders, developing business plans that prioritize Health offerings, developing and implementing Health offerings, and monitoring and managing the ongoing performance of the Health Division. Leads and directs the Delivery and Infrastructure Managers, Customer Success Leader, Digital Leader, and the Head of ACO. This individual will be accountable for all staff within the Health Division.


The position leads internal teams/task forces on division-wide projects. This individual will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing multiple and/or large projects; assigning the project teams; building project plans; reporting status to the client and internal teams; and ensuring quality control throughout the project life cycle.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Visionary on short and long-term planning.
  • Execute the business plan, achieving or exceeding planned P&L objectives.
  • Lead, manage, and hold the team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments.
  • Position the business to scale, growing monthly revenue by 50%.
  • Resolve issues quickly and effectively - seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out the problems, and solving the problems in a practical and Healthy manner.
  • Ensure the leadership team is healthy, functional, and cohesive.
  • Lead with a Client Intimate perspective and promote others to do so.
  • Develops relationships with provider clients, proactively addresses their needs.
  • Resolves client issues in real time as soon as possible.
  • Continuously assesses staff schedules, implements changes to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Presents to prospective clients regarding Health services.
  • Owns sales process for Health services.
  • Meets P&L targets for Health division including, but not limited to annual growth targets.
  • Responsible for all aspects of recruiting.
  • Responsible for conducting staff performance reviews.
  • Conducts 1:1 meeting with direct reports.
  • Handles staff issues and concerns in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Prepares annual budgets for review.
  • Prepares a review and analysis of monthly financial performance; reports out findings to executive management.
  • Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Implements inventory planning systems.
  • Compiles and reports monthly practice statistics.
  • Identifies and implements cost effective approaches to day-to-day practice management issues.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for new policies/procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring all licenses are accurate and current.
  • Supervises with MSO Manager and other managers to on-board new practice clients.
  • Performs special projects to evaluate methods and procedures for processing work or improving operating efficiency/effectiveness of the practice.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Establish project quality expectations.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and clients in a timely and clear fashion.


Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to create a comprehensive project plan which outlines the scope and project requirements, acknowledges critical milestones, and identifies resources, systems, and individuals needed to successfully execute the plan.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients to identify needs, evaluate alternative business solutions, and make sound recommendations.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate team and client meetings in order to understand the full scope of the project, assign tasks appropriately and ensure the project is progressing according to the project plan.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and projects to appropriate team members and follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Ability to provide feedback to team members; uses effective coaching and instruction to ensure individuals are participating and engaging in the project plan.
  • Ability to understand profit and loss calculations, business finance, and financial ROI value proposition creation for potential clients.
  • Ability to communicate information effectively through a variety of means including meetings, reports, letters, and presentations.
  • Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Able to work with diverse client groups with varying levels of comprehension and language capability.
  • Must have demonstrated computer literacy, ability to organize, prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Ability to analyze and independently problem solve as well as exemplary project management skills.
  • Ability to deal with demanding interpersonal situations and respond with good judgment and understanding.


Experience & Education Necessary for Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or other related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a Healthcare, or other related business environment overseeing multiple projects across all lines of business.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in the development, planning and execution of project plans.
  • Experience in selling and managing Physician services such as Medical Billing or Credentialing or support operations.
  • Process improvement and/or experience working with project management tools.


Work Environment: This position requires around fifty percent travel upon given notice; this position also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Develop junior clinical and administrative staff to the next level by ensuring assigned staff fully understand projects, providing effective feedback to staff (positive and critical), identifying and promoting growth opportunities for all junior staff.
  • Promote a positive environment for staff and identify and work with firm management to address any issues that are creating barriers to an optimal work environment for all staff.
  • Provide feedback, advice and back-up as needed to other members of senior staff team to ensure all senior staff has support needed to effectively run accounts and promote positive work environment.


Success will be measured by top line revenue, gross margin, net contribution, employee satisfaction, and customer satisfaction.
