SUMMARY

The Landscape & Industrial National Sales Manager is responsible for managing the overall business relationship with dealers, sales representatives, manufacturer representatives and end users. They will create business plans to meet the company’s growth objectives year over year, and makes sure the go to market strategy is constantly being developed to effectively serve customer needs. They are responsible for reaching sales targets. This position requires an excellent knowledge of the landscape industry.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 7+ years of industry experience.
  • Landscape and Irrigation Knowledge – Expert
  • Must possess strong leadership skills, be professional, articulate, persuasive, client-service oriented, self-motivated, able to identify customer needs and resolve issues quickly, and highly responsive to customer requests.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present in front of large groups and upper management
  • Experience setting sales goals
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Required travel is 50%.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.


Work Travel

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to travel within the assigned area. Travel will require overnight trips as needed.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.

Develop and implement effective sales strategies

  • Lead nationwide sales to achieve sales targets
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with client's needs
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency
  • Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board
  • Responsible for growing market share nationally.
  • Manage overall business relationships with dealers and customers.
  • Develops, implements and executes sales strategies in alignment with overall sales and company strategies.
  • Develops, implements, and executes annual business planning with dealer network addressing market share targets, annual order programs for whole goods growth targets, marketing objectives, and training requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and dealer to facilitate the relationship, ensure adequate geographical coverage in assigned territories, ensure the dealer trains sales and service personnel, and invest in agreed-upon initiatives in the business planning process as part of the overall dealer development process.
  • Effectively plan territory travel.
  • Customer visits as required and coordinated with corresponding sales team and dealers.
  • Periodically report on business results (as required by the company).
  • Conduct customer clinics and product training (annually) in conjunction with dealers.
  • Participate in trade shows as required by the company.
  • Able to manage time and prioritize sales efforts effectively.
  • A team player, sharing best practices for process improvements and betterment of sales results.
  • Must be results-oriented, with initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Possess business acumen, capable of developing and executing sales strategies and business plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Able to understand and report to company market conditions, customer issues, competitive landscape, dealer business issues, and opportunities.
  • Capable of being trained and able to train customers and dealers on product applications, features, and benefits.
  • Ability to manage relationships with customers, dealers, and companies at multiple levels.
