Job Summary:
Switch Electric aims to provide cutting-edge electrical infrastructure for mission-critical facilities, positioning itself as a trusted partner in a rapidly expanding industry. A Project Manager at Switch Electric plays a pivotal role in overseeing and delivering projects from preconstruction to completion. While specific duties can vary depending on the project's complexity, common responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong project team to meet customer expectations, manage scope, and deliver on schedule. Mentor and manage a team of 3-10 direct reports.
- Drive profitability through effective project execution.
- Work closely with the Project Superintendent to develop project plans to meet schedule milestones.
- Review and manage the contractual requirements of the project.
- Communicate regularly with customers on all aspects of the scope.
- Create and present potential change orders (PCOs) to the customer.
- Create and manage the project budget.
- Initiate submission of the schedule of values (SOVs) each month.
- Lead procurement of lot materials and third-tier subcontractors.
- Promote and enforce safety standards on the project site. Conduct risk assessments as needed.
- Ensure all work meets required standards and codes compliances. Work closely with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team throughout construction and commissioning.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven project management experience in the electrical construction industry or other related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- PMP or relevant project management certification (desired).
- Data Center construction experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft 365, Accubid,and Bluebeam)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
