Saras Micro Devices’ vision is to be a leading component and power delivery network solutions provider for semiconductor devices. To achieve this vision, Saras needs a talented, experienced senior-level capacitor engineer familiar with component manufacturing processes and materials, preferably focused on processes and materials used in the manufacturing of solid polymer foil capacitors. The role is a full-time, on-site position, and the candidate will be a critical member of our R&D team. The candidate will work on the development and characterization of passive component processes and materials.


Essential Duties:

  • Contribute in Identifying processes, material choices and layout design for high performing integrated passive devices (capacitors, inductors).
  • Design DOEs, identify/develop supporting metrology and execute to demonstrate concept using in house processing capability and leveraging partner relations.
  • Performs failure analysis, hypothesis testing and root cause assessments to increase process margin and performance.
  • Identify integration schemes for higher throughput, yield and COGS reduction.
  • Continuously explore methods to modulate surface and bulk properties for enhanced heterojunction interface thermo-mechanical and electronic properties and robustness to environmental exposure.
  • Leverages statistical methods for data analysis and visualization for reporting and cross functional communication in progression of development.
  • Contribute to equipment design, cost, cycle time and process margin design tradeoffs studies/investigation for optimal outcome.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technologists.

Working Relationships:

  • Ability to work seamlessly across cross-functional groups.


Required & Preferred Key Competencies:

  • PVD/CVD Deposition Processes and Equipment experience
  • Wet/Lithography/Dry(plasma/RIE) Process Development experience
  • Material characterization techniques
  • Knowledge of manufacturing related indicators ie SPC, OCAP, CpK etc
  • FMEA development and execution
  • Structured Problem solving (eg 5Y)
  • DOE development, Data analytics using statistical methods.
  • Working knowledge of Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance


Education:

MS of PhD in Engineering/Materials Degree. 1-7 years' experience
