The Turnaround Planner develops and coordinates detailed maintenance and repair plans for plant turnarounds, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operations while upholding safety and quality standards.
- Turnaround Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive turnaround plans. Identify scope, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively. - Scheduling and Execution:
Prepare and monitor detailed schedules for maintenance and repair activities during shutdowns and outages. - Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, operations, and contractor teams to ensure seamless planning and execution. - Safety and Compliance:
Uphold and enforce all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, ensuring a "Zero is achievable" safety culture. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and thorough records of all activities, including planning packages, schedules, and post-turnaround documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years' experience in electrical package planning or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering disciplines, preferably with industrial outages and electrical systems.
- Proficient in software tools including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook), SAP, Primavera P6, and Adobe.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents such as electrical & instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs.
- Technical Expertise:
Understand electrical and instrumentation workflows, quality standards, and manufacturing processes. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, climb, crawl, lift, and perform shift work as needed. - Leadership and Risk Management:
Lead outage planning efforts, manage contractor safety, and mitigate operational risks. - Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improvement in turnaround planning and execution processes.
- Manage detailed maintenance shutdowns and daily work planning.
- Organize and expedite materials procurement and ensure parts availability.
- Develop scopes of work and detailed planning activities in P6.
- Create and distribute planning packages per company standards.
- Provide daily schedule updates during outages and ensure tasks are completed timely.
- Lead post-turnaround reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future planning.
- Willingness to travel up to 25-45% for projects and to work a flexible schedule within fatigue management guidelines.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
- Demonstrates excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to achieve state-mandated certifications, OSHA, TWIC, or other necessary qualifications.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety, ethics, and regulatory compliance in all actions.
- Promote and maintain a cooperative and constructive workplace environment.
