We are working with a national food manufacturer on an engineering position that will support capital projects in four locations in the Central New York area. This is an opportunity with a solid, long-standing company that will promote growth opportunities from within. Must be open to travel to these locations 50% percent of the time.



Location: Syracuse, NY area



Job Responsibilities:


  • Review project proposals or plans to determine the time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing the project.
  • Evaluates staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
  • Prepares project reports for management, clients, or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Occasional travel to other area facilities.



Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, industrial, or Electrical Engineering (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 10+ years experience in manufacturing (food, beverage, or pharma preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience handling CapEx projects
  • Familiar with the following trades: Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Utilities, and Construction
  • Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Analytical and Problem Solving: Works well in group problem-solving situations
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Change Management: Develop workable implementation plans
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
