The Role

The Site Operations Manager is responsible for Milk Makeup eCommerce site performance and business delivering forecasted sales and KPIs. With a proven track record in running a successful ecommerce business that maintained significant YOY growth, this position manages 3rd party eCommerce partners required to perform technical site management and enhancements. Equal parts creative and analytical, with an ability to curate content that appeals to beauty consumers. The Site Operations Manager partners with all relevant in-house marketing, creative and operations teams to execute against set objectives for the eCommerce business growth.


What YOU’LL do:


Site Development

  • Develop the technical planning and execution of the ecommerce business
  • Implement UX and technology roadmaps to strategically drive sales and conversions, enhance customer experience and continually elevate the brand sites as a digital flagship destination
  • Implement SEO & onsite search optimizations partnering closely with relevant agency partners.
  • Manage third party partners providing support for eCommerce operations through on-site development. Including site platform management and enhancements, transactional order flow, warehouse and fulfillment management.
  • Main point of contact for the agency that runs our development, troubleshooting issues, leads collaborations on how to improve the site.
  • Work with the internal creative team and external creative agency partners on all design needs for the website including UX/design approvals, site merchandising updates and new product launches.
  • Manage all digital content with a mobile-first approach; provide creative briefs and direction to design team and external agencies


Site Merchandising

  • Partner with director of ecommerce, engineers and UX designers to advise on best decisions for the site
  • Assist with site merchandising strategy, product set up & content with the ecommerce team.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Ecommerce and Ecommerce Coordinator responsible for the execution of the promotional calendar.
  • Partner with marketing and internal design teams to create a holistic strategy and high-quality experience across all digital touchpoints
  • Support the development of the .com Customer Experience and marketing teams objectives to execute for eCommerce growth
  • Support the CRM & Ecommerce manager by creating an on-site experience that will convert traffic through owned + paid channels. Including email, CRM, lead-gen, performance marketing + affiliate.
  • Partner closely with CRM counterparts to define and execute lifecycle marketing strategy and ongoing loyalty activations and promotion
  • Work with the internal creative team and external creative agency partners on all design needs for the website including UX/design approvals, site merchandising updates and new product launches.


Operations Project Management

  • Creates Ad hoc reports based on new enhancements, efficiency, product launches, site speed, ect…
  • In partnership with the customer experience team responsible for all of the communication for the warehouse, different package and picking options, test orders for new products internal and external operations teams + warehouse partners.
  • In partnership with the planning team confirms and receives all inventory transfers are initiated and accounted for and all kits are created in shopify + warehouse systems.
  • Stay on top of competitive activities, industry/consumer trends and innovation to adapt latest technologies to brand sites
  • Collaborate with other managers to exchange best practices and leverage shared digital ecosystem and digital innovation pilot programs.
  • Support the road map and strategy for DTC market expansion
  • Assist with budget and forecast management
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.


We’d like YOU to have:

  • Minimum 4-6 years of eCommerce experience including successfully developing and implementing technical enhancements with proven ability to deliver sales targets (beauty/fashion retail industry experience preferred with understanding of prestige consumer a plus)
  • Previous professional exposure to software product management and/or UX/UI design in a DTC environment
  • Experience facilitating rapid application development teams to deliver technology solutions to specifications
  • Experience in working with tech developers for site experience and warehouse operations
  • Ability to translate business strategy and customer needs into product requirements.
  • Strong focus on metrics and KPIs and highly skilled in various quantitative and qualitative tools to identify product opportunities and validate ideas.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms, Shopify required.
  • Business experience with web commerce platforms and technologies.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines with sense of urgency
