The Product Development Specialist supports the commercial organization to develop new silicone chemistries, paper and film products. They take the lead when the product development departs from core Loparex capabilities or products. Additionally, the Product Development Specialist supports the Procurement Department with all new raw material changes.


PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Loparex commercial group with all platform development activities that are not currently close to current Loparex products or processes.
  • Travel to customer and Loparex sites as necessary.
  • Support Procurement department in any raw material qualification that is not like for like as defined by the Product Solutions Director.
  • Be the primary technical contact for silicone vendors
  • Ownership of formula component list within APRISO (SiH and Pt data)
  • Responsible for new product creation - NPD products. Provide trial plans to the operations group for NPD projects.
  • Create new products within the Evolve system, including semi-finished products where appropriate.
  • Issue trial reports for all customer trials utilizing Loparex trial report templates
  • Maintain project list and records in Salesforce.
  • For all customer meetings visits, issue customer call reports using Salesforce


JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience in silicone release formulation or other chemistry recipe formulation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, science, paper science, a related process field or equivalent experience required. Master's Degree or PhD preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt preferred. Basic statistical understanding essential.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal skills
  • Process awareness and assessment capabilities
  • Project Management Skills
  • Self-governorship and strong time management
