Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with proven experience in the property and casualty insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in data modeling, and a deep understanding of P&C insurance metrics. The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to help our company make informed decisions regarding risk assessment, pricing strategies, claims processing, and other business processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze statistical data on past claims to predict future risks and trends.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to develop pricing strategies and models.
  • Conduct data mining and analysis to identify fraud patterns and reduce losses.
  • Prepare detailed reports that interpret data findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Work with IT and data management teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Implement and utilize business intelligence tools for enhanced data visualization and reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and advancements in data analysis technologies.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business and operational efficiency.
  • Support the claims department with data-driven insights for efficient claims processing.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to support data-driven decision-making across the company.


Required skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Data Analysis
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis tools and databases (e.g., SQL, Excel, R, Python).
  • Familiarity with P&C insurance software systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and statistical modeling skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with big data platforms and tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Proficiency in business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
