Job Description:
The Clinical Preceptor facilitates, directs and coordinates the onboarding of new nurses at FMC
- Guides and directs the onboarding process for new nurses and other nursing personnel at FMC (new hires & transfers)
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the onboarding process within nursing
- Collaborates with the onboarding team to provide high quality, evidence-based onboarding process for new nurses/nursing personnel
- Plans, develops and delivers educational offerings for new nurse and unit preceptors
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning for self and others.
- Completes required documentation of onboarding process.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing required. Masters degree preferred.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- BLS/ACLS certification required.
- Rhythm recognition proficient.
- Certification in Med-Surg Nursing desired (or must be obtained in two years of accepting the position).
- Three to five years recent medical-surgical nursing experience required.
- Minimum of two years with FMC required.
- Teaching/preceptor experience preferred.
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
