Validation Engineer

Specific Duties:
- Manage validation planning and execution including test plans, samples, fixtures, schedules, sign-offs, witness tests, and sample reviews
- Provide leadership focus on project timing, cost and quality objectives
- Develop, optimize and manage test plans in accordance with customer, federal, and/or Adient specific requirements
- Develop optimization plans for test samples using acceptable practices
- Recommend appropriate test sample sizes (n) in accordance to test requirements
- Serve as technical resource for customer, federal, and/or Adient test specifications and methods
- Review and approve physical test set-ups
- Review data and reporting of all tests (including final disposition of results)
- Maintain and communicate program status with customer
- Manage a test schedule using validation database, and/or customer specific format
- Adhere to existing validation processes such as Issue Tracking and reporting, ED/DV/PV, DVP Structure, Spec Updating Process, etc
- Quote entire test plans, establish test budgets, garner budget approval and track performance
- Lead Setup/Global template activities to determine specific test setup information and understanding of FEA predicted performance
- Serve as key contact person between product development team and test labs
- Support internal and/or external customer meetings and reviews as required
- Support product development team on pre/post-test sample reviews as required
- Support product development team with assessment, recommendations, and/or analysis of results to resolve product non-conformances
- Ensure that good positive relations are maintained in all situations and environments with employees, suppliers, and customers
General Duties:
- Maintains safe, secure, and clean work place by following 5S standards
- Use validation database for test data and information. Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations
- Attend department meetings as required
- Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Required Experience:
- 3-8 years in seating and/or validation engineering. Complete Seat validation experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive test methods and automotive test specifications
- Post-test data interpretation and /or analysis experience
- Experience with statistical practice and /or tools
- Test lab experience (equipment, methods, instruments) is a plus
- A team player with strong organizational skills, including planning and prioritizing tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Collaboration and teamwork oriented
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
