Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Kaiser

Job Summary:

Conducts testing in various areas of clinical laboratory like Hematology, Microbiology, and Clinical Chemistry to gather data for diagnosis. Analyzes test results based on the specific client population (e.g. neonatal, pediatric, geriatric).



Essential Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to Kaiser Permanente Policies and Procedures, as well as laws and standards.
  • Provides top-notch patient care and maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs and reports test results accurately and promptly.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in clinical laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ensures quality control and maintenance of laboratory operations.
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals on test methodologies and patient results.
  • Trains new staff and students.
  • Participates in problem-solving and goal-setting.
  • Maintains safety protocols and monitors supplies.
  • Performs phlebotomy when needed.
  • Assists in patient care by providing necessary information and collecting samples.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist License in California.

Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of clinical laboratory principles.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR REGIONAL REFERENCE LABS (RRL):

Must excel as a Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a high-volume lab. Experience with automated instrumentation, molecular procedures, QC protocols, and various testing methodologies.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR REGIONAL FLOW CYTOMETRY (LOS ANGELES):

Requires recent experience in Flow Cytometry analysis with specific knowledge in various areas.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of recent CLS experience.
