In joining this property's team, you will partner with a second nurse leader on campus to share On-Call responsibilities, and support the community in Care Planning and Staffing.


We seek an experienced LVN within the senior living arena, especially in Memory Care (Dementia/ Alzheimer's), who has previous leadership or management experience.

Resident Services Director Job Description

Health Services Directors are responsible for leading and supervising a senior living nursing unit. This position is ultimately responsible, and accountable, for the nursing care received by residents. This role reports to the Executive Director.

Specifically, Health Services Director job duties include:

Directing the nursing program, including implementing new policies and procedures when necessary

Overseeing hiring, firing, and development of nursing staff

Communicating with families, residents, and physicians as needed

Developing a business plan and budget for the nursing unit

Participating in creating resident care plans and ensuring they are followed

Ensuring the nursing unit is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations

Job Titles Related to Resident Services Director


Depending on the size and focus of the facility, Resident Services Directors sometimes go by other names, such as HSD, AL DON, Wellness Director, Health Services Director or Resident Care Director.

Resident Services Director Job Requirements

Candidates must be licensed nurses, either LVN or LPN in the state of California.

Resident Services Director jobs require a candidate who has critical care and operations leadership experience, a strong understanding of senior living standards of care, and federal and state regulations.

A high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and compassionate leadership qualities are must-haves. Candidates must be able to think critically, and adapt quickly to new situations.
