Job Purpose and Description

The Electrical Engineer position's accountability includes the design of the electrical and control systems for the company. This position requires designing electrical drawings and writing programs. Onboarding new Electrical Engineers and direct oversight of trainee's deliverables until they are self-sufficient and knowledgeable in the related controls process. Communicating with externally and internally a contact window of electrical/control engineer.

Major Responsibilities

1. Maintain a safe work environment.

2. Develop Electrical Drawings & Control programming (Allen Bradley or Siemens preferred) from P&ID's.

3. Ability to integrate PLC logic with DCS/SCADA systems

4. Source new components and electrical instruments.

5. Review Customer System Specifications and reflect to design.

6. Selecting and evaluating electrical industrial instruments.

7. Travel required to perform troubleshooting, training and start-up support.

8. Work with field services to provide electrical & control support.

9. Work within a budget.

10. Creation for BOM or list for procurement for electrical and instruments and control.

11. Working with outsourcing design or programming to create drawings, and program.

12. Performance of other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Knowledge of water treatment equipment and components.

2. Minimum 4-year controls/electrical degree or electrical license a plus.

3. Familiarity with PLC/HMI programming a plus

4. Intimate with UL and NEC.

Physical and Mental requirements: Being able to do the following in a safe and effective manner:


• Climbing, ascending, and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and industrial equipment, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.


• Reaching and extending hands and arms in any direction.


• Standing and walking for sustained periods of time.


• Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and stooping for sustained periods of time.


• Using upper extremities to move objects and equipment with steady force.


• Sometimes working in temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
