This is a entry-mid-level position that assembles aircraft products under minimal supervision, and performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and procedures on our ACES Ejection Seats.


Primary Responsibilities:
Assembles products by reading blueprints and work instructions, including the use of measuring devices (scales, calipers etc.) with minimal supervision

Performs sheet metal riveting functions using hand tools such as a rivet gun, rivet gun, shaver, rivet squeeze, hand clamps, bucking bars, drill press, pneumatic drill and specialized features to build sub-assemblies

May track and receive the required parts for product area. May check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners for the particular run

Contacts material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins

May pack finished product into designated carton

Performs necessary tasks to ensure on-time delivery of the product

Cross trains and work in all areas of assembly operation

Adheres to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct

Ensures quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures

Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace

Provides continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives

May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary

This position is 100% onsite.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:
HS diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
2 years relevant assembly experience

Basic mechanical knowledge; able to operate hand tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment

Experience installing aircraft fasteners, solid rivets, double action bolts, NAS, MS & AN hardware desired

The hourly rate range for this role is $18.14/hr – $24.55/hr. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
