American Red Cross is actively seeking Camp Counselors in Philadelphia, PA, for a temporary summer position. If you're age 18 or older, this could be your chance to be part of the team.
What You Should Know:
The Camp Counselor role supports the Youth Preparedness Program. Candidates need to pass a background check and hold a valid driver's license. The role involves traveling to camp locations within Philadelphia, delivering youth curriculum to promote emergency preparedness.
You will be involved in engaging programs like Prepare with Pedro and Be Red Cross Ready, aimed at educating youth on emergency preparedness.
Your Role:
- Conduct engaging presentations for youth at camp settings
- Ensure data collection and reporting for each presentation
- Collaborate with the team to promote youth preparedness
- Assist in managing classroom activities and materials
- Support in administrative tasks for program success
Requirements for Success:
- High School education or equivalent
- No prior experience required as training will be provided
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well with youth and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills may be beneficial
Physical Requirements:
Regularly engage in activities involving hand movements, lifting, and communication. Ability to travel daily within Philadelphia with a valid driver's license.
