Summary:


In this position, you are responsible for all aspects of engineering for the service and repair of paper machine rolls.

You will manage, lead and coach your team in order to achieve site and regional objectives and goals.

You will simultaneously manage multiple projects and allocate resources effectively aligning with the demands of the business and customer base, while fostering a cooperative relationship with other key stakeholders within the region, in order to support regional and local strategies, in order to meet financial goals and targets.


Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and lead direct reports, communicate targets, goals and expectations to meet site strategy and budget (25% of time spent)
  • Provide technical recommendations and support, both to internal and external customers (15% of time spent)
  • Investigate problems , and lead in facilitating recommendations for improvements to ensure highest level of all quality throughout product offering and services provided (20% of time of spent)
  • Evaluate workloads within department to ensure appropriate facilitation of job tasks and work load in order to optimize departmental efficiency (20% of time spent)
  • Develop and coaches team , to develop expertise, knowledge and enhance skill set (20% of time spent)

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Pulp & Paper and/or Machine shop related experience
  • Proven leader with previous experience of managing others
  • Project Management
  • Data analysis background with high proficiency in excel and experience working with databases.
  • English Language Required
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering related field or 2 years higher education considered with >8 years industry experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, entrepreneurial skills, and interpersonal skills necessary to operate in a team environment.
  • Lean Management, Six Sigma and/or Operational Excellence training preferred.

Physical Demands:
Employees in this position are regularly required to sit, walk, stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel. They are occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employees regularly talk and hear and must be able to lift 10 pounds. Rarely employees are required to lift up to 50 pounds. Safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE are required in designated areas.
