Job Description:

  • Oversee and troubleshoot critical weld fit ups ensuring cleanliness requirements and best practices are followed.
  • Develop and document best practices to support production.
  • Perform statistical process analysis of fitting processes.
  • Define Blue Print/Specification requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and disposition discrepant hardware.
  • Accurately report problems, solutions, and results, in concise written and oral communications.
Communicate effectively between team members and customer counterparts.

Required Skills:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field, with at least two years of experience in aerospace fabricating working with nickel, stainless, ferrous, and aluminum alloys, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements:
Experience in Tube Bending, surface finish & lapping application, metalworking best practices, blending/polishing of welded surfaces, working with Torch Weld Jigs (TWJ), familiarity with electronic planning and drawings, and experience using appropriate PPE. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to lead teams and work collaboratively in a team environment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.

Education:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related discipline.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The work environment may involve a combination of indoor and outdoor activities with varying physical demands. These include walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, handling/fingering, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and the ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds. Employees may be exposed to variable noise levels and may require personal protective equipment. The role may also involve working in a standard office setting, using office equipment including a computer, and travel by air or auto. Flexibility in working hours and shifts may be necessary to support organizational activities.
