Are you a skilled and motivated Shopify Developer interested in making a significant impact? Our innovative and rapidly growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce startup is in search of a talented individual to join our dedicated team. As the sole in-house developer of the company, you will collaborate closely with the founding team to create a seamless and captivating online shopping experience for our clientele.

Your proficiency in Shopify's platform, coding, and user experience design will play a crucial role in our prosperity. This role provides an exciting chance to contribute directly to a lively and innovative startup atmosphere, where your contributions will be immediately visible.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with founders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Develop and maintain robust and scalable e-commerce applications using modern web technologies and frameworks
  • Design, implement, and optimize both front-end and backend systems for a seamless and user-friendly shopping experience
  • Customize and enhance Shopify functionality to meet unique business requirements
  • Integrate third-party APIs and payment gateways to improve platform functionality
  • Conduct code reviews, identify and resolve bugs, and maintain high-quality code standards
  • Enhance website performance and responsiveness to elevate user experience
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in e-commerce and Shopify
  • Work with the team to consistently enhance development processes and workflows
  • Drive projects to completion by identifying potential obstacles and collaborating with peers to adapt as necessary

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a minimum of 4 years in e-commerce development and Shopify. Proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce principles, UI/UX design, and responsive web design
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks like React and Angular
  • Extensive background in backend technologies like Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks
  • Expertise in Shopify development including custom theme development, app integrations, and API utilization (e.g., REST, GraphQL)
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and deployment methods
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adept at analyzing and debugging complex issues
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with a strong team orientation
  • Experience in Challenger Brand/Start-Up environments preferred, showcasing adaptability, creativity, and proactive problem-solving
