POSITION SUMMARY: Carries out administrative and business development support for the Investment Services Department at First Security Bank and Trust. Manages fundamental accounting tasks for the Investment Services Department. Aids clients of First Security Investment with service inquiries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists clients by addressing inquiries about the products and services provided by First Security Investment Services. Describes and endorses the most suitable products/services for the client's requirements.
- Supports Investment Services clients with service requests as necessary.
- Offers administrative assistance for the Investment Services Department. Executes various administrative duties such as customer correspondence, compilation of client reports, and record maintenance.
- Handles the daily posting of security transactions. Posts and reconciles commission records from the bank's designated brokerage provider. Maintains commission blotters and trade logs on a monthly basis.
- Maintains knowledge of all bank services and cross-sells other bank products by referring to relevant departments. Supports Financial Advisors with business development.
- Participates in bank-hosted events as specified in the financial institution's "Community Events Program".
- Undertakes additional duties as assigned or necessary.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Familiarity with banking products and services.
- Proficient in fundamental computer skills using Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Excel. Knowledge of data-based marketing systems is advantageous.
- Solid record-keeping capabilities.
- High level of interpersonal skills in interactions with clients, bank personnel, and external vendors.
- Ability to operate in an environment with confidential information, maintaining strict confidentiality always.
- Exhibits tact and patience consistently.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and function under pressure.
- Adaptability to work with customers in a continually evolving environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Current SIE and Series 6 license required within 6 months of hire.
Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role essential. Background or knowledge of investments is advantageous.
This role is based in Charles City and is full-time, reflecting the growing requirements of the Wealth Management department.
