About the Role: As a Quality Engineer at Spartronics, your role is crucial in planning and executing activities related to the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products manufactured to meet our customer's standards. Basic Purpose of Position:

Responsibilities:
  • Implement quality assurance strategies to achieve exceptional product quality and reliability focusing on manufacturing process capabilities and product specifications/requirements.
  • Support functional owners in utilizing risk management processes through FMEA, APQP, Control Plans, and error-proofing in product and process design.
  • Coordinate and perform internal audits, manage Layered Process Audits, third-party and customer audits such as ISO, UL, AS9100, etc.
  • Introduce and apply suitable quality tools to assess product and process performance including Pareto charts, trend analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process maps.
  • Act as the primary customer quality contact - Collaborate with customers to provide technical support on quality issues and performance, and advise the Spartronics team on customer requirements and expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement across facility's Key Process Indicators (scrap, rework, PPM) using Lean, Six Sigma, Poke Yoke, and relevant process enhancement tools and methodologies.
  • Lead the Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive action processes, employing problems solving tools within an 8D methodology.
  • Coordinate APQP as part of the New Product Introduction teams, involving project risk management activities.
  • Offer technical assistance in developing and implementing robust processes to meet customer requirements, including QA plans and process routings.
  • Play a key role in the Quality Team - Provide specific guidance and direction to staff and department managers in implementing the quality system and complying with quality standards and regulations.
  • Oversee supplier quality and corrective actions affecting your areas of support.
  • Monitor MRB and ensure timely disposition of suspect products.
RequirementsExcels in this role by having:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field or STEM discipline accepted by the hiring team, or relevant years of experience.
  • Prior experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) organization is preferred.
  • Experience in creating work instructions and related QMS procedures.
  • Thorough comprehension of ISO 9001 requirements, with AS9100 experience being advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills driven by meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with and facilitation of APQP events in the New Product Introduction process cycle.
  • Proficient analytical skills utilizing DMAIC Six Sigma and Lean Principles.
  • Solid knowledge of quality/reliability engineering statistical techniques.
  • Self-motivated and capable of self-management.
  • Adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certification as Six Sigma Green Belt or Six Sigma Black Belt or CQE is desirable.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, all candidates MUST be a US Citizen, Green Card Holder, or Permanent Resident.
