We are currently seeking a Production Manager to take charge of the production operations at our site in Lewisville, TX. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring all safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity targets are met. Your focus will be on driving continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing daily operations, and fostering a culture of ongoing learning and development within your team.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage production functions, ensuring consistency across all shifts.
- Guarantee the production of high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and timely manner, exceeding customer expectations.
- Lead quality control processes, press approvals, and color standard measurements.
- Participate in daily production meetings and provide valuable insights in decision-making forums.
- Develop and mentor team members, setting clear expectations and driving continuous improvement projects.
- Utilize lean principles to enhance production processes and optimize operational metrics.
- Identify opportunities for employee growth and development through training programs and certifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the management of capital projects as required.
- Work closely with the Plant Manager/GM to review and address production cost center performance.
- Uphold quality standards and safety practices across all shifts.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment focused on solutions.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing production management, preferably in the printing industry.
- Demonstrated track record of leading teams to achieve or surpass organizational objectives.
- Preference for experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects and think creatively.
- Familiarity with manufacturing ERP systems and data analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of printing processes.
- Direct supervision of first-shift production staff and other team members.
- Indirect supervision of off-shift production teams.
- Willingness to participate in job-related training sessions as required.
- Combination of office tasks and production floor supervision.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Subject to pre-employment and random drug screening.
- Regular exposure to dust and noise in a manufacturing setting.
- Varying warehouse temperatures based on external conditions.
- Recommended safety shoes and glasses in the production area.
