ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTHealth and Human Services Agency partners with communities to safeguard and enhance the health and well-being of Shasta County residents. Formed in 2006, HHSA is divided into four branches: Children's Services, Adult Services, Public Health, and Economic Mobility, with centralized administration. HHSA strives for optimal health for all, assisting the vulnerable population with services and resources to meet their basic needs and ensure their health and safety.

The Public Health Branch focuses on community-wide prevention of various health issues, including communicable diseases, chronic diseases, injuries, substance abuse, family violence, and lead poisoning. It also fosters healthy behaviors through policy development, supports healthy environments, and houses the HHSA's emergency response unit.
ABOUT THE POSITIONUnder general direction, plans and coordinates projects utilizing complex public health data, conducts health impact assessments, and prepares reports. The role necessitates analyzing and interpreting health impacts to support programs, policies, proposals, and legislation.

IDEAL CANDIDATECurrently, seeking a proactive individual for the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention program within the Healthy and Safe Families Division. The position focuses on preventing substance use and enhancing protective factors among youth. The ideal candidate boasts a self-starting attitude, independence in work, knowledge of health policy and systems change, and the ability to engage stakeholders from diverse sectors.
