Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Controls Specialist responsible for assisting Project Managers working on capital projects in the MPLX G&P Segment. This position will provide support for processing plants, compressor stations, pipeline projects and ROW. Performs all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and governmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting up, tracking, forecasting, and reporting capital project AFE costs.
  • Recognize and alert Project Managers on cost issues and assist with developing AFE supplements if required.
  • Work with Project Managers and vendors to accurately forecast project cost on a monthly basis.
  • Take the lead on AFE preparation and submission to ensure budget, asset and expenditure information is correct.
  • Submit monthly accruals and work in progress comments to our Fixed Assets group.
  • Actively involved in the project life cycle process from inception through startup and commissioning.
  • Continuously work to build strong relationships and rapport with various departments including Accounting, Procurement, Land, Business Development, Engineering and others to ensure all costs are being captured and reported accurately.
  • Leads efforts around accounts payable and invoicing functions.
Qualifications
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals/employees is required.
  • Communication skills will carry a heavy emphasis.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Access programs.
  • Prior experience with SAP a plus.
  • Occasional travel expected.
  • Driver's License Required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in natural gas industry in an accounting, cost management or contracts role.
