About the RolePURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the engineering manager, the industrial engineer identifies opportunities in the manufacturing process, working with suppliers, and Magna Structures Tennessee LLC personnel to implement process & method improvements.

The role also involves providing support in areas of safety, human work factors, quality control, material flow, throughput improvements, line balancing, capacity analysis and cost reductions.


Your ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
Support a safe and healthy work environment free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Cooperate with all local, state, and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in case of inspection.
Know and follow all applicable EH&S Policies and Procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
Works with the Ergonomics Committee to complete ERAs on equipment.

Works with the Engineering Manager to ensure cross functional communication is taking place when there is a "process change" that affects engineering and/or other departments.

Works with the Engineering Manager to execute projectsWorks with the Engineering Manager to track and report project status, CPMP.Works with the Engineering Manager to create project timelines for design tasks from critical project milestones provided by Engineering Manager.

Work with Process Engineer to document plant floor lay-out revisions.
Supports the plant by recommending productivity and system improvements.
Apply lean manufacturing methods to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements and production standards.

Assist in the design & layout of equipment, materials, and workspace utilizing ergonomic standards for maximum efficiency and providing optimal workspaces.

Assist with the development and implementation of Standard Work techniques and documentation.
Help Magna Structures Tennessee LLC achieve cost-saving goals in alignment with the business plan.
Follow Magna standards as per the MAFACT Guideline.
Assist in time study analysis and methods development.
Support Engineers in the costing and implantation of engineering changes.
Coordinate process improvements in quality, costing, scrap elimination, and operator wellness.
Be familiar with customer specific requirements.
Communicate with Customer, Quality, Production and Management on all concerns, as required.
Create technical presentations and project justification documentation, as required.
Perform other duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
General factory environment.

Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending.

Some of the equipment and tools used are a computer, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, and a projector

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of G.D.&T., SPCKnowledge of CAD programs.

EDUCATION:
Engineering Degree/Diploma or Equivalent experience

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years in the automotive industry Ergonomic experience
