This important Senior Tax Specialist role offers a qualified team member the opportunity to grow their US Federal and State tax technical, analytical, and process skills as part of an internal tax function at a public company that leads in the marine space.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
As part of the Tax Department, the Senior Tax Specialist will report to the Senior Manager - Tax Automation & Compliance and play an integral role in Brunswick's domestic tax compliance, tax accounting processes, and process improvements, including:

  • Prepare and file annual US Federal (including international forms) and State income tax returns for multiple business units
  • Assist in quarterly and year-end tax provision close processes, gather support for financial statement auditors
  • Forecast and prepare quarterly taxable income estimates (federal and state)
  • Support the Senior Manager - Tax Automation and Compliance to drive tax technology initiatives for the tax team
  • Assist with Corptax Software administrative responsibilities (domestic and international)
  • Participate in projects to identify creative solutions that will help automate, streamline, and improve tax compliance and reporting processes
  • Execute on process improvements leveraging PowerBI, Alteryx and/or advanced Excel
  • Support preparation of consolidated fixed asset results for compliance and planning
  • Provide timely guidance to business units on federal & state income and/or indirect tax compliance
  • Perform tax research, as required
  • Stay current with tax developments / trends through continuing education
  • Provide support and documentation for IRS audits state & local tax audits
  • Responsible for special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, accounting, or information technology
  • CPA, advanced academic degree, or information technology certifications, preferred
  • 5 years total corporate tax and accounting experience, in public accounting, experience in a publicly held company preferred
  • Knowledge of Corptax or another tax compliance/reporting software product
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite (e.g., PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel - macros, functions, or Power Query)
  • Knowledge of Alteryx and Power BI a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Oracle EPM
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively collaborate
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with organizational skills to prioritize and manage time
  • Ability to take ownership of work product
