Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding Anesthesiologists to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, which is located just 15 minutes from NYC, and is an acute care teaching hospital academically affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medical College. Lincoln Medical Center is a NYS designated Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties including its award- winning Cancer and Breast Centers.

Opportunity Details
  • Determines, prescribes, and administers anesthetics and procedures for various categories of cases. Advises on dosages and consults on post-operative complications.
  • Recommends suitable anesthesia and provides consults on post-operative encounters.
  • Supervise CRNAs, Anesthesia residents, and rotators.
  • Reviews case histories and is responsible for all matters pertaining to Anesthesiology.
  • Lecture and train Anesthetists, Residents and auxiliary staff.
  • Attends clinical conferences.
Lincoln Anesthesiology Department Overview:
  • 160 cases per week average.
  • 1580 deliveries last year, active and dynamic OB team.
  • 8 Main ORs, 2 cysto, 2 L&D ORs, 2 Endoscopy suites, 1 Interventional Radiology
  • All manner of cases, primarily B&B, but includes healthy Peds, OB, Neuro, Thoracic, Vascular, Orthopedics, ENT, and Trauma.
  • Neuro IR Thrombectomy Certified.
  • TJC Certified for Advanced Perinatal Care
  • 3 attendings in house on call for nights and weekends, with significant support.
  • 2 Attendings take turns for main OR cases.
  • 3rd attending dedicated to L&D.
  • 4 calls per month minimum. Weekday calls are typically 3 pm to 7 am for 16 hours. Weekends are 0730 to 0730 for 24 hours.
  • CRNAs and residents work at Lincoln. Ratio 1:2 supervision typically. Solo vs supervision is roughly 40/60%.
  • Anesthesiology resident rotators from New York Medical College, 5 graduates per year. These residents also take in house call.
  • OMFS rotators during the day.
  • Cornell Academic Affiliation with appointments available.
  • Active and supportive environment dedicated to mission driven care in the up and coming South Bronx neighborhood. This is an excellent setting to strengthen clinical skills or to grow academically. This department functions as a team, complete with education and cross training.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from medical school of recognized standing with the degree of Doctor of Medicine with a NYS License
  • Completion of an acceptable residency training in an approved program.
  • Experience in block placement in upper and lower extremities preferred but not required.
  • Additional Fellowship training is welcome.
Benefits include:
  • Annual Base Salary Range: $390,000 (board eligible) - $400,000 (board certified), with additional compensation for calls and sessional coverage.
  • 10% 401K company contribution after one year of service
  • Opportunity for $25,000 a year retention bonus for covering at least 6 calls per month.
  • Opportunity for additional annual bonuses based upon quality and productivity metrics via FPP bonus of up to $40k
