Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Leadership and Management: Responsible for providing effective leadership, management and oversight required to optimize the deployment of SBA programs and services throughout the District, to achieve the negotiated goals and to better serve the Small Business Community.
  • Develop and implement a District Office Strategic Plan (DOSP): The DOSP must maintain clear-line-of-sight from the District to OFO/HQ and SBA Strategic goals and objectives. The DOSP will incorporate strategic plans developed by District senior staff and must clearly articulate how the District will optimize the deployment of SBA programs and services in the District and the achievement of assigned goals for the upcoming fiscal year.
  • Organizational Representation, Training and Outreach: Support the building and maintenance of a viable network of collaborative partnerships with small business stakeholders, such as, but not limited to, economic development organizations, federal, state, regional and local governments, chambers of commerce, business associations, educational institutions, community organizations, lending institutions, etc. as well as successfully manage intra-SBA activities (visits) and SBA collaborations with the ultimate goal of optimizing the deployment of SBA programs and services in the District.
Position is subject to the conditions and policies of the SBA rotational program for key management positions and requires incumbent to sign a Mobility Agreement.

This is a non-bargaining unit position. This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:

(1) Developing, communicating and implementing the strategy, vision and direction of an organization with a diverse customer base; AND

(2) Managing or advising on the day-to-day operations of an organization, which must include business development, marketing and outreach; AND

(3) Subject matter expert in at least one of the following: financial, lending, procurement, economic development, or human resources matters; AND

(4) Leading individuals to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Next steps

Based on your application and your responses to the application questionnaire, you may be presented with instructions on how to access the USA Hire system to complete the online assessments. The online assessments must be completed within 48 hours following the close of this announcement. You will have the opportunity to request a testing accommodation for the assessment should you have a disability covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
