Description:

The Controller will perform operational accounting functions daily, reporting financial information accurately and on a timely basis. This position will collect, monitor, and study financial data in detail to be included in executive reports. Essential functions include:

+ Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.

+ Work with teams to automate processes and reports for more efficient workflow.

+ Review monthly interest statements, code and book/approve accruals as needed and ensure all statements with payments due are made in a timely manner.

+ Liaison with Property Management regarding policies, reconciling, adjustments, etc.

+ Work with the Property Management team to ensure timely payments and receipts.

+ Work with Financial Analyst and teams on cash flows for operating entities.

+ Approve general/adjusting journal entries as needed.

+ Approve accounts payable invoices and payments.

+ Work with management, auditors, and tax preparers for the preparation of tax returns and audit material..

+ Manage and setup entity bank accounts.

+ Understand loan terms and reporting requirements.

+ Enter loan closing statements.

Skills & Qualifications:

+ 5+ years of full-cycle US GAAP accounting experience within a well-established corporate environment.

+ 2+ years of accounting management experience.

+ Previous experience working in Real Estate Development/Construction preferred.

+ Bachelors degree in accounting preferred.

+ Good understanding of accounting terminology and functions including preparing, entering, and understanding journal entries.
