WE HAVE A PLACE FOR YOU We are hiring for a ground-breaking new venture in Goldsboro NC- The Goldsboro Transitional Program (a.k.a. The Farm) This transitional living program will serve teens who are on probation but cannot return home safely from a youth development center or other residential placement. Referred by juvenile court counselors, they stay for six to 12 months, working to finish school, identify career goals, learn agricultural skills, and learn to budget, cook and manage bills.

WE ARE HIRING Youth Care Workers to provide program services for teens in our transitional living program. Youth Care Workers will intervene with adolescents being served in the home by implementing direct treatment services through use of the agency's model of care, providing residential care services, and working with adolescents, families, volunteers, and community representatives in the home and community settings.

Pay starts at $15+ an hour, depending on education and experience. Day and night shifts are available.

Additional Duties:

  • Develop, to the highest degree possible, a normalized family-style home environment providing counseling, concern, direction, assistance, and support for the youth in care. Develop and participate in creative activities for youths and staff.
  • Model appropriate moral, ethical, and professional values for youths, colleagues, and the community-at-large.
  • Regularly seek consultation from appropriate supervisory staff, provide detailed information regarding significant issues affecting youth in care, and accept and implement feedback.
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with all program consumers including but not limited to, youths, parents/family, school personnel, neighbors, referral agencies, administrators, etc.
  • Perform daily operational functions such as facility cleaning (interior and exterior) and maintenance, cooking, shopping, supplies inventory, manage financial/budget tasks, and other rotating assignments.
  • Actively monitor all aspects of the physical property. Maintain all property in clean, safe, attractive manner. Comply with guidelines for property maintenance and management.
  • Drive agency vehicles for purpose of transporting youths and operating all facets of the treatment program. Transport youth for routine home activities, court appointments, medical appointments, family visits, other required appointments, and emergency situations.
  • Provide assistance and support to other program staff in their job responsibilities.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED?
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma and experience working with client population
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully complete all phases of pre-service and on-going training, including, but not limited to, physical restraint training, First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions, and medication administration.
BENEFITS are available to full-time staff after 90 days of employment:

Paid Holidays: MHC gives full-time employees paid holidays each year.

Vacation Leave: First partial calendar year of hire is pro-rated at 10 days (80 hours) per year

Sick Leave: Paid sick leave is accumulated at 12 days (96 hours) per calendar year. All unused sick leave will carry over into the next calendar year.

Health Benefits: Employees may choose between the Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Base HSA Plan or Medical Buy-Up HSA Plan. Dental and Vision plans are also available.

Health Care Flex Plan: Employees can utilize the optional Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HSA) tax-free reimbursement program for out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses for themselves and their dependents.

Dependent Care Flex Plan: Employees can utilize the optional Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) tax-free reimbursement program for their eligible dependent care expenses.

Life Insurance: Term life insurance is provided by MHC for full-time staff in the amount of $75,000. Supplemental life insurance is available for individual or family coverage.

Workers' Compensation: This agency-paid benefit covers on-the-job injury.

403B Plan: Employees can contribute to a tax-deferred annuity plan; MHC matches a portion of the contributed funds.

Credit Union: All employees are offered membership to the Coastal Credit Union (CCU).
