Position Summary

Martin Marietta is looking to hire an Electrical Maintenance Manager to lead, maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research, and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum production efficiency for the Indiana District.

Responsibilities
  • Lead skilled-trade support staff and contractors to meet daily plant electrical needs.
  • Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for mining operations.
  • Analyze and suggest solutions to improve plant electricity costs.
  • Troubleshoot AC / DC motor controls and drives for underground as well as surface limestone mine.
  • Actively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting.
  • Work closely with engineering group and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects.
  • Lead by example on all MMM safety rules/procedures and MSHA compliance standards and ensure that all employees are following established safety policies and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • 2-year technical degree in electrical or comparable experience is preferred, but not required
  • Certified / licensed Electrician is preferred, but not required
  • 5 years' experience in aggregates, industrial, or similar industry desired
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Outstanding vendor relations skills (internal and external contractors)
  • Willingness to occasionally be on call or work weekends is desired
  • Working knowledge of high voltage electrical systems required
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments and electrical construction tools
  • Experience with PLC's a plus
  • Experience in an industrial setting is a plus
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a DOT health exam.
Work Environment
  • This job operates frequently in a maintenance and operations environment in an underground and surface operations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
