What we offer teachers:

Oakland Unified has secured substantial funding to support various pathway programs, offering tuition and debt relief for selected middle school teachers and Special Education teachers, as well as pathway programs like Classified-to-Teacher and After-School-to-Teacher programs. We aim to create and nurture affinity spaces for educators to enhance retention and provide socio-emotional support. Additionally, we provide extensive professional development, innovative curricula, mentoring, and advancement opportunities. Our teachers benefit from collaborative Professional Learning Communities within and across schools.

Our comprehensive compensation package includes:

  • Competitive salaries based on experience, education, and credentials
  • Recognition of up to twelve years of full-time teaching experience from other school environments in our salary structure
