This role will work closely with the go-to-market organization to explain the business of OpenAI, showcase our market leadership, and tell stories about how people and organizations are using AI to be more creative, productive and innovative.

The growing impact and visibility of ChatGPT and our other technologies has led to high-profile and widespread interest in OpenAI from reporters and media outlets all over the world.

We believe it is our responsibility to educate external audiences about the benefits and risks of our technology, communicate our values and intentions, and explain our approach to the safe development and deployment of AI.This role is based in San Francisco, CA.

We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.


In this role, you will:
Proactively tell stories about beneficial use cases that map to OpenAIs goals of building trust and credibility.
Explain the business of OpenAI, and showcase our market leadership.
Develop messaging and media strategy to demonstrate how OpenAI's platform helps founders / enterprises thrive.
Advise and empower customers to tell their own stories with our support.
Identify strategic media and speaking opps for go-to-market leadership in an effort to raise profiles of trusted leaders.
Manage partners for 1P and 3P launches.


Were looking for a blend of qualifications, including:10+ years of professional PR experience with strong preference for enterprise tech and/or VC comms experience.

Experience leading strategic media campaigns and developing vertical messaging for specific industries.
Track record of working with senior executives to raise profile and communicate company strategy.
Proven track record of managing stories from end-to-end, owning relationships with top-tier reporters.
Experience working closely with and advising internal partners such as GTM, product, legal, etc.
Ability to steer or influence publications with information and experts.
Strong interest in AI.
