Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Direct Materials, Steel, this person will be a critical role to support the steel category manager in the global simplification project of steel and lamination.

The Supply Chain Analyst will be focused on business analytics in the areas of sourcing and part management. In concert with the supply chain organization this individual is expected to challenge the current process approach and support standardization of policies in procedures that improve value and efficiency. This position partners in the establishment and deployment of standard processes, policies & procedures to standardize, simplify, consolidate suppliers and part numbers. This position requires proven Knowledge of steel industry trends, opportunities and challenges for procuring different types of raw and processed steel- steel production, sales and key players.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathers and evaluates data from multiple sources. Analyzes, reconciles and identifies measurable opportunities for improvement. Identifies and implements audit processes to ensure data issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Understand steel metallurgy (Properties, specifications and applications)
  • Develops and maintains processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity across the business. Creates and maintains workflows and approval processes based on internal stakeholder requirements.
  • Establish and maintain policies, program requirements, procedures, processes, and risk performance measures to drive effective and efficient risk management throughout all phases of the supplier/product life cycle.
  • Develop and maintain program tools and templates to document, manage, advise, and report on supplier risk and adherence to the SRM policies and program requirements.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for new processes, KPI's, and data management. Collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements. Partners with various leaders to design optimal solutions that meet the business needs of our internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes. Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases and web platforms to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency and performance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Industrial Management.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business analyst.
  • Detail oriented and accurate.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • High knowledge of Power BI or similar analytics tools.
  • Solid experience building Microsoft Power Apps and in Power Automate.
  • Experience in visualization.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Flexible, able to work on own initiative, deal with more than one project at a time, can work under pressure and tight deadlines, and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • 80/20 experience and business and operational segmentation.
  • Ability to support multifaced business requirements established by each Segment. Comfortable working in a results oriented environment with broad base of business requirements.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellence in generating accurate and understandable data and reports to analyze performance to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of personal initiative, energy and ownership of business results.
