Who we re looking for

Toyota s Battery Plant Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Engineer Battery (Mechanical)

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage construction projects (expansions, renovations, greenfield, etc.) at our sites in North America.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager Battery, the person in this role will support the Battery Plan Engineering Department's objective to provide project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs for North American Battery manufacturing sites.

What you ll be doing
  • Engineer for new Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina greenfield construction project.
  • Develop criteria (mechanical) for the design of buildings.
  • Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing Centers (plants) in the areas of building design and construction, including development and maintaining of building related standards.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for industrial buildings and building-related systems as technical support for local facility groups at each site, as well as for submittals during project management.
  • Utilize experience in plant planning project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs.
  • Provide Customer Satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customers to support their needs.
What you bring
  • Bachelor of Science (Engineering: Mechanical)
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in building design and construction
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial buildings and building-related systems
  • 3+ years of experience in project management of industrial construction projects with a value of $5M+
  • Intermediate level experience of computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher)
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial structural steel systems
  • 2+ years of experience in large-scale civil installations
  • Knowledge and experience working with Excel spreadsheets and databases
  • Knowledge and experience working with tools such as Bluebeam and Autodesk Build
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Fundamental skills of problem-solving and desire to improve/kaizen
  • Good organization skills
