Who We Are Looking For:


Atkore is searching for a Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in our Harvey, IL location.

This position supports the Atkore Corporate function in all aspects of planning, forecasting, reporting, and budgeting and is in a great position for internal advancement.


What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate, manage and own the monthly forecast process; consolidate business forecasts, develop Corporatelevel SG&A forecast and lead internal forecast meetings with Corporate leadership
  • Document and develop standard work for the forecast and budgeting processes
  • Prepare Annual Corporate Allocations and develop improved processes for updating allocations annually
  • Lead and proactively drive process improvements to eliminate waste and improve accuracy
  • Assist with monthly acquisition performance tracking presentations
  • Provide sound financial analysis and develop financial tools and models to support decisionmaking across the Atkore business
  • Convert monthly detailed financial data into understandable summaries and recommendations to be used by Atkore leadership
  • Participate and contribute in the daily Gemba walk, recommend metrics to be tracked and lead the implementation of countermeasures to meet goals
  • Partner with the broader finance team to help standardize financial reporting, planning and analysis
  • Develop tracking capability for Capital Expenditures, and review CER financials for accuracy prior to approval
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 25 years' experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with JD Edwards and Oracle EPBCS (or similar system) is preferred
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with experience using pivot tables, vlookups, graphs, etc
  • Experience with Lean principles (Gemba walks, Kaizens, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong work ethic and capacity to perform at a high level in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work across multiple entities and functional groups
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with upper management

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete your new hire "Immersion" so that you are ready to rock in your new role.
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role and you'll know where to go for what you need.
  • Be able to navigate Atkore's forecasting system with some comfort and be capable of autonomously pulling reports.

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Be fully comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels in a fastpaced environment to obtain needed information for monthly forecast.
  • Be capable of timely completing the corporate forecast and understand how to submit the forecast into Atkore's EPBCS system.

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Be able to independently work with several senior and executive leaders to complete the annual budget for corporate departments.
  • Be wholly responsible for the corporate forecast, operating and maintaining all relevant databases necessary for monthly completion.
  • Have conceptualized, obtained buyin for, and implemented a tracking mechanism for capital expenditures.
