SUMMARY:
Assists Clinical Operations Manager with special projects as assigned. Responsible for training of front desk staff across practice in conjunction with site Practice Managers.

Works with Clinical Operations Manager to monitor performance of front desk staff and develop processes and workflows to improve same.

Functions as Practice Manager for two or more clinical sites, including oversight of operational and financial management of assigned locations.

Responsible for managing site staff, optimizing practice efficiencies and the front-end of revenue cycle, productivity of site(s) and practice

development/marketing.

Helps to develop and enforce all Brown Dermatology policies.

Maximize utilization of space at the site.
Oversees scheduling functions, patient reminders and provider templates.
Maintains or oversees drug sample log and security.
Minimizes no shows.
Oversees the proper maintenance of medical records.
Prepares business plans for future development, along with budgets, financial projections, timelines, etc.
Promotes growth of the practice with new sites, satellite offices.
Assures prompt telephone access (three-ring policy) and professional handling of all calls.
May perform medical

assistant/secretary

duties if needed.

Serves as primary IT resource for managed sites, coordinating with IT vendor/department in areas including EHR and IT infrastructure maintenance.

Responsible for training of front desk staff across practice in conjunction with site Practice Managers.

Works with Clinical Operations Manager to monitor performance of front desk staff and develop processes and workflows to improve same.

Finance

Maintain medical and office inventory in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Ensure co-pays collection is at 95% or better.
Works to consolidate costs by implementing system and process-oriented workflow.
Stays current on changes and updates to insurance policies and plans. Communicates changes as needed to other managers and staff as needed.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Strong management and operational skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with subordinates, patients, physicians, supervisor and peers.
Strong

interpersonal/communication

skills to deal with a variety of internal and external customers across all levels of the organization.
Must have knowledge of dermatology practice operations.
Ability to operate a variety of office and medical equipment.
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and/or treatment procedures as dictated by specialty area.
Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and CLIA regulations.
Medical Terminology required.
Excellent computer skills – Word, Excel, scheduling and billing software, etc.

EXPERIENCE:


Minimum of 8 years practice management experience in a health care environment with 5 years in Dermatology practice management experience given preference.
