Role and Responsibilities

Primary role will be maintaining the daily operations of the accounting staff and ensuring data integrity and accuracy. The Accounting Manager is responsible for a variety of tasks as outlined below. This is a full-time exempt salary-based position. Role includes the following:
  • Working with direct reports to determine objectives and goals for each year, and advising on their progress to enhance staff professional development
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department's workflow
  • Making sure members of the finance team meet all financial reporting deadlines
  • Training and advising new and existing employees of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Monitoring and analyzing the financial department to develop more efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Work closely with AP, AR, and billing teams to ensure process efficiency
  • Responsible for month end close process which includes.
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Management discussion and analysis
  • Expense prepaids
  • Reconcile credit cards
  • POC accounting for a portion of our business that does construction
  • Record shared expenses
  • Train and mentor accounting staff
  • Offer process improvements to accounting functions
  • Maintain working relationships with external clients and vendors
  • Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Five years of experience in general accounting required
  • Two years of management experience required
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft office
Preferred Skills
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or other client relationship management software preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work on a computer and stare at a monitor screen for long periods of time.
