About the Position
We are hiring a Peer Support Specialist for our Rental Assistance Program (RAP) in Jackson County. The Peer Support Specialist collaborates with individuals to navigate complex systems such as rental and subsidy applications, and benefits systems. Working mainly with the Veteran and Transition Aged Youth (TAY) populations, the role involves assisting in housing searches, accessing community resources, and supporting individuals in transitioning to and maintaining their apartments.
Work Schedule: Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Compensation: $26.00 per hour with potential language differentials for bilingual candidates.
About the Program
Our Rental Assistance Program (RAP) helps high-needs individuals secure independent housing as they step down from higher levels of care due to serious mental illness diagnoses. The focus is on overcoming housing barriers and supporting individuals throughout the community integration process.
Requirements
Successful candidates MUST:
- Have personal experience with mental health challenges
- Be Certified and Registered as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)
A valid Oregon driver's license and the ability to pass a DHS background check are mandatory for this role.
